The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off our souls.

Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.

Salvador Alicea's Artist Statement

Thank you for visiting my photography website and been interested in my photos.

Photography is the artistic medium that allows me to be reunited with nature, with passions and feelings that I felt as a child while wandering in the countryside. It is like emerging to a clear surface, feeling and breathing pure air after being long immersed in the ocean of everyday life. It is an escape from the linearity and isolation that daily life produces to a world full of landscapes with sublime beauty, with spectacular expressions of Mother Nature.

My artistic work is ruled by emotion and contemplation. Created in a very intimate way with nature, always seeking to immerse myself in the environment I photograph – often enduring the most challenging conditions of Mother Nature to capture through my photographs the ethereal essence, the particularity, the true heart, the “Soul” of a place.

Being able to bring others that experience and emotion through my artwork so that it can be enjoyed time and time again, makes it even more emotional.

“Nature gives us very deep speeches about life through its landscapes, if each of us looked at them more attentively, we would be better human beings both collectively, and individually.”

“My goal is to look for a unique perspective, beautiful lighting of landscapes… to capture its beauty in a moment in time … so it can be enjoyed again and again. To help us all understand the importance of preserving and protecting what we have.”
